Many hotels now offer wedding services that include a wedding chapel and planning service. Without missing a beat, guests can go from their room to the wedding to the reception, all at the hotel. The bride and groom can start the honeymoon there, too. Whether you wish to arrange a wedding in some exotic location abroad or closer to home, there are some things you can do to lower costs and maximize the celebration.

First, when choosing the location and the wedding hotel, do some online research about group rates for travel and for accommodations. If you want friends and family to be able to come, you will need to find good cheap rates for travel and good deals on rooms, too. Plan the event months, even a year, in advance.

Before sending out invitations, consider sending out “save the date” cards. These are simply postcards with the date and location of the wedding announced five or six months before the date. The cards can be decorated with the monogram of the bride and groom or other wedding motifs but don’t have to be elaborate. The hotel will probably have to be reserved for a stay of several days for each of the guests in order to get a package deal, which can include everything, such as flowers, minister, reception and even musicians. In some areas, honeymoon cruises can be added on to the hotel reservations for even more enjoyment for the new Mr. and Mrs.
